No, Museum-goers, this is not a drill. This was actually the front cover of the New Jersey-distributed newspaper.
We’d like to nominate this cover for both ‘Best Newspaper Headline of All Time’ and ‘Worst Photoshop Job Ever Seen in Print’.
Gaga & Grandpa… raising cash together…
and by Grandpa, you actually mean Senator Frank Lautenberg (NJ), who is “teaming up” with the Lord Almighty to fundraise for his political campaign. Wait, what??
More on this post-ironic hilarity from the source:
(Trentonian) Entertainer Lady Gaga — she of the outlandish outfits and publicity stunts — is set to help raise campaign funds for 86-year-old U.S. Sen. Frank Lautenberg of New Jersey during her concert in Washington D.C. next month.
Lautenberg, America’s oldest senator, will hold the fundraiser when the pop singer’s Monster Ball Tour hits the Verizon Center in Washington on Sept 7.
The Washington Post reported yesterday that the New Jersey Democrat is offering seats in a private suite for $2,500 a person for political action committees and $2,400 for individuals.
An aide said the fundraiser was Lautenberg’s idea. The senator and his wife celebrated his 86th birthday in January at a Gaga show at New York’s Radio City Music Hall and he’s been a big fan ever since. Lautenberg sent out an email inviting people to the fund-raising concert. It was headline, “Senator Frank R. Lautenberg & Lady Gaga — the Monster Ball Tour. Join us in a private suite.”“Last week in Washington was like a bad romance,” Lautenberg recently told a political newsletter in Washington, alluding to one of Gaga’s hit songs.
